Autumn Chant By Patrick Donald

Autumn Chant By Patrick Donald

In autumn’s embrace, the earth bestows its treasures,

Fruits of toil and endeavour, a wealth of earthly pleasures.

The steadfast sower reaps the harvest’s golden yield,

A bounty of nature’s riches, the promise fulfilled.

With wreaths of gladness, his brow is adorned,

A son of the soil, by Mother Earth’s love adorned.

As he leaves behind the cares and sorrows he’s known,

He returns to his hearth, to a joyous, warm home.
