‘In the heart of Wicklow near the Sally Gap lies a pretty lake called Lough Dan that has a lovely sense of tranquility about it especially on a windless evening. You luckily do not get to experience the midges that were engulfing the lens and penetrating my skin with frequent success. The image was made using a film camera and in those days I was only shooting in black and white film and producing the prints in a darkroom’.. Patrick
